Foreplay is a workspace for finding, saving, and analyzing social ads. Swipe File lets you save ads from Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn with automatic transcription, and Discovery gives you a search engine over more than 100 million ads for creative research. Spyder tracks specific competitors' ad accounts around the clock so you see new creative as soon as it launches, and Lens is Foreplay's analytics layer for checking how your own ads are performing and building briefs off what's working.
The Basic plan only covers the swiping and briefing side of the product. Spyder and Lens, the parts that do competitor tracking and performance analytics, only unlock on the Workflow plan and up, which starts at $149 a month billed annually.
Foreplay rolled out its current pricing structure in 2025 alongside the Lens launch, moving from ad-spend-based pricing to flat per-seat tiers.
Who it's for
- ✓ Creative strategists and media buyers who want one place to save and organize ad inspiration from Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn
- ✓ Agencies and in-house teams that need to keep an eye on a defined list of competitors' ad accounts
- ✓ Teams that want an AI brief builder tied directly to saved ad examples
Who should look elsewhere
- ✗ Solo users or very small teams who only need swipe file and briefing, since real competitor and performance analytics require the $149+/month Workflow plan
- ✗ Teams focused mainly on Google or YouTube ads, since Foreplay is built around Meta, TikTok, and LinkedIn
- ✗ Buyers who want deep categorization and tagging of their swipe file out of the box
Pros
- + Discovery search covers 100M+ ads, useful for creative research beyond your own saved swipes
- + Spyder gives always-on competitor tracking instead of manually checking ad libraries
- + Chrome extension and mobile app make it fast to save ads from wherever you find them
- + Public API lets teams pull competitor ad data into their own tools instead of working only inside the app
Cons
- – Competitor tracking and ad performance analytics (Spyder, Lens) sit behind the Workflow plan at $149/month, not the $49 Basic plan
- – Per-seat pricing at $20 per extra user adds up fast for agencies running multiple client teams
- – Swipe file has limited categorization, so reviewers say saved ads get disorganized over time
Foreplay pricing
What you pay for
Foreplay prices per seat with a small number of included users per tier, plus $20 for each extra seat. The plans that matter for competitor tracking and creative analytics, Workflow and Agency, cost $149 and $389 a month billed annually, so the $49 Basic plan mostly covers swiping and organizing ads, not watching competitors or measuring your own ad performance. Enterprise pricing is not published and requires talking to sales.
At about $49/month to start, it is one of the cheaper options in Ad Creative Analytics.
