What is Lever?

Lever is an applicant tracking system built around the idea that sourcing and pipeline nurturing matter as much as managing open applications. It bundles a candidate CRM into the core product, so recruiters can build talent pools, run outreach campaigns, and track candidates across roles rather than treating every requisition as a fresh start.

The hiring workflow is a configurable Kanban pipeline per role with drag-and-drop stage moves, bulk actions, and automation rules for things like reminders and stage transitions. Reporting is built in rather than bolted on, with out-of-the-box dashboards plus custom reports. AI interview transcripts and summaries are included in the core plan, while AI candidate screening is sold as a separate add-on.

Lever was acquired by Employ Inc. in 2022, joining JazzHR and Jobvite in the same corporate family. Pricing is never published. Every deal starts as a custom quote sized to headcount and hiring volume.

Third-party deal data puts the median negotiated contract around $15,400 a year, with small teams paying in the high four to low five figures and large enterprise deployments reaching $60,000-$140,000 a year. Renewal increases in the 8-15% range come up often enough in buyer reports that you should plan for them, not just the first-year number.
