Gem is a recruiting platform built around sourcing and candidate relationship management, with an AI layer on top of most steps. You can run it two ways: bolted onto your existing ATS (Greenhouse, Workday, Lever, iCIMS) so Gem handles sourcing, outreach, and scheduling while your ATS stays the system of record, or as an all-in-one replacement where Gem is also your ATS.
The core pitch for a sourcer is an AI Sourcing Agent that searches over 800 million profiles and returns candidates with verified contact info already attached, plus multi-channel outreach sequences and talent pool tracking so you can go back to people you sourced before. Gem has also pushed further into application review, ranking inbound applicants, and most recently fraud detection, flagging resumes and candidates that look fabricated or AI-generated before a recruiter spends time on them.
Pricing is not public. Both main plans are quoted per company based on headcount, and you only get a real number by talking to sales, except for a startup program aimed at very small teams.

Who it's for
- ✓ Sourcers and recruiters who want one tool for finding candidates across many sites, tracking outreach, and rediscovering past applicants
- ✓ Talent teams already using Greenhouse, Workday, Lever, or iCIMS who want AI sourcing and application screening added on top without switching ATS
- ✓ Small startups (under 30 employees) that want a full sourcing-to-hire platform and can use the free startup program
Who should look elsewhere
- ✗ Teams that want to see a price before booking a sales call, Gem's standard and enterprise plans are quote-only
- ✗ Solo recruiters or very small agencies who just need a lightweight sourcing tool without a full CRM and analytics layer
Pros
- + AI Sourcing Agent searches 800M+ profiles and surfaces candidates with verified contact info already attached, cutting time spent manually finding emails
- + Works as a layer on top of Greenhouse, Workday, Lever, or iCIMS, so you don't have to migrate off your ATS to get AI sourcing and outreach
- + Fraud Detection Agent screens applications for fake or AI-generated candidates before a recruiter reviews them, which matters more as application fraud rises
- + Talent pool and rediscovery features let you resurface past candidates instead of starting every search from zero
Cons
- – No published pricing for the standard plans, both Gem + Your ATS and Gem All-in-One require a sales quote based on headcount
- – Self-serve startup pricing tops out at 30 FTE, above that the same calculator still pushes you to a Contact Sales button even though it displays a rate
- – No free-forever tier, only a 6-month free period for very small companies
Gem pricing
At about $130/month to start, it sits mid-pack on price in Talent Sourcing.
| Plan | Price | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Gem + Your ATS | Custom | Layers AI sourcing, outreach, scheduling, and analytics on top of your existing ATS (Greenhouse, Workday, Lever, iCIMS) · Priced by FTE count, quote required |
| Gem All-in-One | Custom | Replaces your ATS with a single connected platform: sourcing, CRM, ATS, scheduling, analytics · Priced by FTE count, quote required |
| Gem Startup Program | $130/mo | 1-10 FTE: $130/mo; 11-30 FTE: $180/mo; 31-50 FTE: $225/mo; 51-75 FTE: $315/mo; 76-100 FTE: $405/mo, all billed yearly at 10% off the monthly-equivalent list rate · Self-serve checkout for 1-10 and 11-30 FTE; from 31 FTE up the same calculator still routes to a Contact Sales button · Includes AI Sourcing & CRM, Analytics, Scheduling, ATS |
Gem + Your ATS and Gem All-in-One are both quote-only, scaled to FTE count, with a Talk to Sales button. The interactive Startup Program calculator on the pricing page is the only source of real self-serve numbers: billed yearly, it shows $130/mo for 1-10 FTE, $180/mo for 11-30 FTE, $225/mo for 31-50 FTE, $315/mo for 51-75 FTE, and $405/mo for 76-100 FTE (each a 10% discount off the monthly-equivalent rate shown struck through). The checkout button reads 'Get started now' for 1-10 and 11-30 FTE, then switches to 'Contact sales' at 31+ FTE, so Gem's own page copy claiming the 30-100 employee band gets reduced rates 'no sales call required' does not hold up against the actual button behavior. Separately, companies under 30 employees get Gem All-in-One free for the first 6 months, then 50% off; Gem does not spell out how that offer and the calculator numbers above combine.

Is Gem still actively developed?
Last significant update: April 2026. Gem launched an AI Fraud Detection Agent that screens applications for fake or AI-generated candidates before a recruiter looks at them. It checks resume metadata, email, phone, LinkedIn, identity verification, and device signals, then flags each application as high, medium, or low risk with a reason attached. It plugs into Gem's Application Review step and works alongside Greenhouse, Workday, iCIMS, and SuccessFactors.

Gem FAQ
How much does Gem cost?+
Gem does not publish standard prices for its main plans. Both Gem + Your ATS and Gem All-in-One are quoted based on your company's FTE count, so you need to talk to sales for a number. The exception is the Startup Program calculator, which shows yearly-billed rates from $130/mo at 1-10 FTE up to $405/mo at 76-100 FTE, though checkout stays self-serve only up to 30 FTE.
Does Gem replace my ATS or work alongside it?+
Both. Gem + Your ATS layers AI sourcing, outreach, and scheduling on top of Greenhouse, Workday, Lever, or iCIMS while your ATS stays the system of record. Gem All-in-One replaces your ATS entirely with Gem as a single platform.
Is there a free plan?+
There is no free-forever plan. Companies under 30 employees get Gem All-in-One free for 6 months, then 50% off when they move to a paid plan.
What does the Fraud Detection Agent actually check?+
It evaluates resume metadata, email, phone number, LinkedIn profile, identity verification, and device/IP signals, then assigns each application a high, medium, or low fraud risk with an explanation, before a recruiter reviews it.
