Lokalise is a translation management system that sits between your codebase and your translators. Engineers push source strings in through the API, a CLI, or integrations like GitHub, Figma, and Slack, and translators work in a web editor with translation memory, glossaries, and AI-assisted suggestions before the finished strings get pulled back into the build.
In late 2025 Lokalise rebuilt its whole pricing model around processed words instead of seats or key counts, and dropped its free-forever plan. Advanced and Enterprise now require a sales conversation instead of a self-serve signup, which pushes larger teams toward a quote rather than a card on file.

Who it's for
- ✓ Product teams that need developer-friendly integrations (GitHub, Figma, CLI) alongside a translator-facing editor
- ✓ Teams whose translation volume is steady enough to plan around a yearly word budget
Who should look elsewhere
- ✗ Small teams or solo founders who want a free plan to start on
- ✗ Teams that want a flat per-seat price they can budget without projecting word volume
Pros
- + Deep integrations with GitHub, Figma, and CI/CD pipelines for developer workflows
- + Translation memory and glossary tools carry over once you're on Growth or above
- + Support is consistently rated responsive, including on lower tiers
Cons
- – No free-forever plan since the 2025 repricing, only a 14-day trial
- – Entry pricing rose roughly 20% in the move to the new plans, and self-serve signup now tops out at Growth ($375/mo billed annually, $435/mo month-to-month); anything above that requires a sales demo
- – Reviewers report a 90-day cancellation notice period, longer than typical SaaS terms

What you pay for
You pay per year of translation activity, not per seat or per key. Every paid plan gives unlimited seats-in-name (capped at a soft limit) and unlimited hosted words, and the price scales with how many words get processed by translators, reviewers, or AI each year. The two entry tiers, Explorer and Growth, are self-serve; Advanced and Enterprise are quote-only and require a sales call.
At about $144/month to start, it sits at the higher end of Website & Software Localization pricing.
| Plan | Price | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Explorer | $144/mo | 60,000 processed words a year (cap 500,000) · 10 languages, 5 projects · 5 advanced seats · 2 integrations |
| Growth | $375/mo | 225,000 processed words a year (cap 1.5M) · Unlimited languages and projects · 10 advanced seats · AI translation and glossary included |
| Advanced | $999/mo | 1M processed words a year (cap 3M) · 15 advanced seats · 5 integrations · Annual billing only, requires a sales demo to buy |
| Enterprise | Custom | 3M+ processed words a year · Unlimited integrations · Bespoke security and support |
Lokalise rebuilt its pricing in late 2025, dropping the free-forever plan and switching from seat/key counts to a word-processed model: translation keys and hosted words are now unlimited on every paid plan, and you pay based on words processed by humans, AI, or automations each year. The listed prices are the per-month rate when billed annually; paying month-to-month costs more ($169/mo for Explorer, $435/mo for Growth). Advanced is annual-billing only and, like Enterprise, requires a sales demo before you can buy; Explorer and Growth are self-serve.

Lokalise FAQ
Does Lokalise have a free plan?+
No. Lokalise dropped its free-forever plan in the 2025 pricing overhaul. It now offers a 14-day free trial on any plan with no credit card required.
How is Lokalise priced?+
Plans are billed on words processed per year, not per seat or per translation key. Translation keys and hosted words are unlimited on every paid plan; what you pay for is the volume of words that get translated by humans, AI, or automations.
Can I sign up for the higher tiers without talking to sales?+
Only Explorer and Growth are self-serve. Advanced and Enterprise require a sales demo before you can buy.
