What is G2?

G2 is a review site where software buyers read verified user reviews and compare products, and where vendors claim a profile to collect reviews, run review-generation campaigns, and buy visibility. For a reviews and social-proof tool, the free tier just gets you a listing. Paying gets you gift-card budget to incentivize reviewers, a better-looking profile, and (on the higher tiers) data on who is viewing your profile and searching your category.

Most of what buyers actually pay for is the review-collection campaign and the badges G2 awards based on review volume and score, since those badges and G2's rankings carry real weight with software buyers doing research. The catch is that pricing above Starter is never published. You negotiate, and the price scales with how many product profiles you run and which add-ons (Buyer Intent, paid clicks, data exports) you bolt on.

Who it's for

  • B2B software vendors who need reviews and category rankings to show up in buyer research and RFPs
  • Vendors willing to run paid, gift-card-incentivized review campaigns to build volume quickly

Who should look elsewhere

  • Small teams or bootstrapped startups who can't justify a five-figure annual contract once they outgrow the free Starter tier
  • Vendors who mainly want testimonial collection and display on their own site rather than a third-party marketplace listing

Pros

  • + Large existing buyer audience, so a strong profile and badge set genuinely drives inbound leads
  • + Free tier lets you claim a profile and collect reviews before paying anything
  • + Buyer intent and market data (on paid tiers) show which companies are researching your category

Cons

  • Professional and Enterprise pricing is quote-only, and reported deal sizes vary widely (roughly $11,400 to $28,300/year, and more for multi-profile Enterprise contracts), which makes budgeting hard
  • Vendors report renewal price increases of roughly 7-12% even with no added features or seats
  • Support is frequently described by vendors as hard to reach, often routed through a chatbot that only files a ticket
  • The published Starter price roughly doubles at year-two renewal ($299 to $599/month)

Starter is the only tier with a published price: $299/month billed monthly, or $2,999/year if paid annually (about a 16% discount), and it is only available to companies with 1-100 employees. G2 itself says year-2 renewal pricing on Starter rises to $599/month or $6,000/year. Professional and Enterprise are quote-only and priced off your number of product profiles and add-ons. G2's own list prices for these are $18,000/year for Professional and $34,000/year for Enterprise before add-ons, but real negotiated deals (per Vendr's benchmark data) typically run $11,400-$17,700/year for Professional and $17,500-$28,300/year for Enterprise, with multi-profile Enterprise contracts reaching $50,000-$95,000. Add-ons like Buyer Intent, Clicks (pay-per-click), Paid Promotions, and Data Solutions are all separately quoted.

G2 FAQ

Is G2 free for vendors?+

There's a free plan that lets you claim your profile and collect reviews, but it caps you at 3 profile admins and a standard, unbranded page. Paid plans start at $299/month for Starter, and anything above that is custom quoted.

How much does G2 cost above the Starter plan?+

G2 doesn't publish Professional or Enterprise prices. Its own list prices are $18,000/year for Professional and $34,000/year for Enterprise, but real negotiated deals typically run $11,400-$17,700/year for Professional and $17,500-$28,300/year for Enterprise, depending on how many product profiles you run and which add-ons you buy. Multi-profile Enterprise contracts can reach $50,000-$95,000.

Does G2 pricing go up at renewal?+

Vendors commonly report renewal increases in the 7-12% range even without adding seats or features, plus Starter's own list price nearly doubles at year two.
