Pendo tracks how people use your web or mobile product, then lets you act on that data without waiting on engineering. The analytics side covers funnels, retention, feature adoption, and session replay. The action side is in-app guides, walkthroughs, and NPS or feedback surveys you build and ship yourself, plus a feedback/roadmap module for collecting and prioritizing requests.
Pricing is built around monthly active users (MAUs) rather than seats, and scales with which feature tier you buy on top of that. Everything past the free plan is a custom quote, so what you actually pay depends on your MAU count, which modules you need, and how well you negotiate.

Who it's for
- ✓ Product teams that want analytics, in-app guides, and NPS feedback under one vendor instead of stitching together three tools
- ✓ Companies with a defined, trackable MAU count who can budget for enterprise-style software spend
Who should look elsewhere
- ✗ Teams whose users spike or churn heavily, since your bill moves with MAUs and can jump a tier without warning
- ✗ Startups or small teams that just want raw event analytics without paying for guides, NPS, and a sales cycle to get a price
Pros
- + One platform covers analytics, in-app guides, and feedback collection, cutting down on tool sprawl
- + Free plan supports up to 500 MAUs with real product analytics and in-app guides, not just a trial
- + App Health and similar dashboards give product leaders a fast cross-app view without custom reporting
Cons
- – No published price for any paid tier. You go through a sales demo to find out what it costs
- – Your bill scales with product growth, not a fixed seat count. Vendr's buyer data shows moving from the roughly 500-2,000 MAU range (about $7,000-$15,000/year) into the 2,000-10,000 MAU range (about $20,000-$60,000/year) can multiply the bill 3-4x
- – Sentiment surveys and journey orchestration are separate paid add-ons on Base and Core, only bundled in at Ultimate. Session replay is also a paid add-on on Base
Pendo pricing
No public entry price to compare, so budget depends on a sales quote.
| Plan | Price | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | Up to 500 MAUs · Product analytics · In-app guides · Sentiment/NPS surveys (Pendo branded) |
| Base | Custom | Custom MAU volume · Product analytics and in-app guides included · Session replay, product discovery, sentiment, and journey orchestration all cost extra |
| Core | Custom | Custom MAU volume · Most popular tier per Pendo's own pricing page · Session replay included · Product discovery, sentiment, and journey orchestration still cost extra |
| Ultimate | Custom | Custom MAU volume · Session replay, product discovery, sentiment, and journey orchestration all included |
You pay based on monthly active users (MAUs) plus which tier's features you need, not per seat. Every paid tier is quote-only, you have to talk to sales to get a number. Per Pendo's own feature comparison, session replay is included starting at Core, while sentiment surveys and journey orchestration stay paid add-ons until Ultimate. Third-party buyer data (Vendr) puts real annual contracts from about $17,600 to $150,090, with a median of $49,000/year across 565 tracked purchases, though that is not Pendo's own published pricing. Separately, SpendHound's procurement data shows Pendo list pricing rising roughly 16% year over year for SMB buyers and about 9% for enterprise buyers.

Is Pendo still actively developed?
Last significant update: March 2026. Pendo launched App Health in beta, a dashboard that rolls up visitors, activation, retention, NPS, and engagement across all of a team's apps so product leaders can spot which apps are improving or slipping without building the report themselves.

Yes, up to 500 monthly active users, with real product analytics, in-app guides, and Pendo-branded NPS. Every tier above that is a custom quote.

Pendo doesn't publish paid pricing. Buyer-reported data from Vendr puts typical annual contracts between about $17,600 and $150,090, with a median of $49,000 a year, driven mainly by your MAU count and which tier you're on.
Does Pendo charge per seat or per user?+
Neither in the traditional sense. Pendo bills on monthly active users of your product, not on how many people on your team log into Pendo.
