What is Aircall?

Aircall is a cloud phone system built for teams that make and take a lot of calls, mainly sales and support. You get numbers, a softphone (desktop, mobile, browser), call recording, IVR, and click-to-dial, plus native logging into Salesforce, HubSpot, and 100+ other CRMs and helpdesks.

On top of the base phone system, Aircall sells a stack of AI add-ons: live call transcription and summaries, sentiment scoring, an AI voice agent that can answer and route calls on its own, and an AI messaging agent for SMS and WhatsApp. Most of these are metered or per-seat extras on top of the base plan, not included in it.

Pricing is per seat with a 3-seat minimum on the two published plans and a 25-seat minimum once you need SSO, an SLA, or custom onboarding.

Who it's for

  • Sales or support teams that need a real phone system tied into Salesforce or HubSpot without building their own CTI
  • Teams that want AI call summaries and coaching without adopting a separate conversation-intelligence tool
  • Orgs already sized past the 3-seat minimum who can absorb per-seat add-on costs

Who should look elsewhere

  • Solo reps or teams under 3 seats, since Essentials and Professional both carry a 3-license floor
  • Teams that want one flat price with AI features bundled in rather than sold as add-ons
  • Buyers who want month-to-month billing without paying a premium over the annual rate

Pros

  • + Deep native CTI into Salesforce and 100+ other CRMs and helpdesks
  • + Professional plan now includes AI Assist (call summaries, action items, sentiment) at no extra charge
  • + AI Voice Agent and AI Messaging Agent let you automate first-touch call and SMS/WhatsApp handling without a separate platform
  • + 250+ integrations and an open API for teams that want to build their own workflows

Cons

  • List price only covers the base seat. AI Assist Pro ($49/seat), Analytics+ ($15/seat), WhatsApp ($10/seat), and AI Voice Agent minutes all stack on top
  • 3-seat minimum on Essentials and Professional, 25 on Custom, so small teams pay for headcount they may not have
  • Buyer reports describe aggressive annual auto-renewal and charges continuing after numbers are ported out
  • Monthly (non-annual) billing costs a real premium over annual, $40 vs $30 per seat on Essentials and $70 vs $50 on Professional, and still carries a 4-seat minimum

What you pay for

You pay per seat, billed annually, with a 3-seat minimum on Essentials and Professional and a 25-seat minimum on Custom. Aircall discloses list prices for its two main plans but a chunk of what teams actually use is metered add-ons: AI Assist Pro, Analytics+, WhatsApp, and AI Voice Agent minutes all cost extra per seat or per bundle. Monthly (non-annual) billing is published too, at a real premium over annual: $40/seat on Essentials and $70/seat on Professional, with a 4-seat minimum. Custom is quote-only starting at 25 seats.

At about $30/month to start, it is one of the cheaper options in Sales Dialers & Phone Automation.

Is Aircall still actively developed?

Last significant update: June 2026. Salesforce CTI v3 customers got a dedicated Aircall Log Object for richer call logging, and the mobile app added Android Auto support so drivers can hear and reply to incoming SMS, MMS, and WhatsApp messages by voice. Earlier in the same June release cycle, Aircall also let the AI Voice Agent transfer outbound calls to a human agent, added APAC data residency for recordings, transcripts, and AI Assist, and stopped counting calls fully handled by the AI Voice Agent as missed calls in analytics.

Aircall FAQ

Does Aircall have a free plan?+

No. Aircall has no free tier, only a 7-day free trial. Paid plans start at $30/seat/month billed annually.

What's the cheapest way to get started with Aircall?+

Essentials at $30/seat/month billed annually, with a 3-seat minimum, so the entry cost is $90/month before any add-ons.

Is AI call summarization included in the price?+

It's included on the Professional plan at no extra charge. On Essentials you'd need to add AI Assist separately at $9/seat/month, or AI Assist Pro at $49/seat/month for live transcription and custom summaries.

Why do some Aircall bills come in higher than the sticker price?+

The published $30-50/seat prices are for the base plan only. Add-ons like Analytics+, AI Assist Pro, WhatsApp, and AI Voice Agent minute bundles are billed on top, and buyer reviews describe bills running well above the base rate once these are added.
