Tome was a browser tool that turned a prompt or rough outline into a slide deck, generating layout, copy, and AI images in one pass. It grew fast on the strength of a generous free plan and reportedly reached around 20 million users within about a year and a half.
The company shut down Tome Slides on April 30, 2025. Any deck a user had not exported before that date was deleted with no recovery option. The founders moved on to build Lightfield, an AI-native CRM. Lightfield has nothing to do with decks or presentations.
Separately, a different company also called Tome (an unrelated legal-document AI product) was bought by AngelList in April 2025. That is not the presentation tool people mean when they say "Tome," and it has no product for making slides either.
Who it's for
- ✓ Nobody currently. Tome the presentation tool is shut down and cannot be signed up for or paid for.
Who should look elsewhere
- ✗ Anyone who needs a working presentation tool today
- ✗ Teams hoping to recover old Tome decks they never exported
Pros
- + Its free plan used to be one of the fastest ways to go from a rough outline to a presentable deck
- + AI-generated images inside slides were ahead of most competitors when Tome launched
Cons
- – The product does not exist anymore. tome.app returns a dead page, and there is no way to sign up, log in, or pay
- – Decks that were not exported before April 30, 2025 are gone for good, with no export or recovery path offered after the cutoff
- – The team that built it moved on to a sales CRM (Lightfield), not a presentation tool, so there is no direct successor to switch to
Tome pricing
What you pay for
There is no current pricing because there is no product to buy. Tome's presentation tool shut down on April 30, 2025, and tome.app now returns a dead page with no signup, login, or pricing screen. Before the shutdown it had a free plan and paid per-seat tiers, but we could not verify a live vendor pricing page today, so no historical numbers are listed here as current.
No public entry price to compare, so budget depends on a sales quote.
| Plan | Price | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing is quote-only. Contact the vendor for a quote. | ||
Fetched https://tome.app and https://tome.app/pricing today (2026-07-07): both return HTTP 404, x-vercel-error DEPLOYMENT_NOT_FOUND. The company confirmed the shutdown and pivoted to a different product, Lightfield, an AI CRM unrelated to presentations.
