What is Workyard?

Workyard is a GPS time clock and workforce management app for construction and trade businesses. Crews clock in and out from a phone, GPS confirms they were on site, and the hours roll into timesheets, job costs, and payroll exports.

Every plan carries a $50 a month company base fee on top of the per-user price. Starter covers time tracking and payroll integrations. Pro adds scheduling, task management, and live labor cost dashboards. Enterprise adds compliance and ERP features and is quote-only.

Who it's for

  • Construction and trade companies that need to prove where a crew actually was when they clocked in
  • Owners who want job costing tied directly to GPS-verified hours, not guesswork
  • Companies already on QuickBooks, ADP, Gusto, or Sage looking for a payroll-friendly time clock

Who should look elsewhere

  • Government contractors needing detailed prevailing-wage and certified payroll documentation, which reviewers say the product and support team don't handle well
  • Small crews who don't want a flat $50/month base fee added on top of per-user pricing
  • Prevailing-wage contractors who need more than 3 pay categories, a cap reviewers flag as too restrictive

Pros

  • + GPS time tracking and geofencing catch buddy-punching and confirm crews were actually on site
  • + Straightforward payroll exports to QuickBooks, ADP, Gusto, and Sage
  • + Pro plan's live labor cost dashboards make it easy to see job profitability while a project is still running
  • + Users rate it highly for ease of setup and day-to-day use (4.7/5 on Capterra)

Cons

  • $50/month company base fee applies on top of per-user pricing, on every plan including Starter
  • Automatic geofence-to-timesheet assignment is locked behind Enterprise, which bundles in features and cost some teams don't need just to get that one feature
  • Only 3 pay categories on lower plans, a problem for companies doing prevailing-wage work
  • All fees are non-refundable under Workyard's terms, on monthly and annual plans alike, with no prorated refund if you cancel mid-cycle
  • No free forever plan; you're on the clock after the 14-day trial

How much does Workyard really cost per month?+

Starter is $8 per user per month and Pro is $16 per user per month, both billed monthly, plus a flat $50 per month company base fee added on every plan. Enterprise is custom quoted.
