What is Tractian?

Tractian is a CMMS built for industrial plants that pairs work order and asset management with its own condition-monitoring sensors. You can run it as a standard maintenance system on its own, or add Tractian's hardware sensors to get vibration and failure data feeding straight into the same platform.

The pitch is one system for both reactive maintenance (work orders, requests, asset history) and predictive maintenance (AI-flagged failures before they happen), instead of stitching a CMMS to a separate condition-monitoring tool.

Who it's for

  • Manufacturing and industrial plants that want AI-based failure prediction bundled with day-to-day maintenance management
  • Mid-size to large maintenance teams that can commit to 5 or more seats billed annually

Who should look elsewhere

  • Small teams or single-site shops not ready for a 5-seat minimum and annual per-seat billing
  • Property, facilities, or fleet managers outside manufacturing, where the sensor-driven predictive maintenance angle doesn't fit
  • Buyers who want a real self-serve free trial before talking to sales

Pros

  • + AI diagnostics and failure detection are built into the core product, not sold as a separate add-on
  • + Unlimited assets and requesters on every plan, so cost doesn't climb as your equipment count grows
  • + No platform or setup fees, and free data import from Excel or Google Sheets
  • + 15% price-match guarantee against a competitor's quote

Cons

  • No public free trial, only a limited sandbox demo with no credit card required
  • SSO and custom fields are locked behind the Enterprise tier, which doubles the per-seat price and doubles the minimum seat count
  • Predictive maintenance (the Bundle tier) requires Tractian's own proprietary sensors, which ties you to their hardware if you want out later
  • Mobile app trails the desktop version and gets complicated on phones, according to user reviews

What you pay for

Tractian charges per user per month, with a 5-seat minimum on its cheapest plan and a 10-seat minimum one tier up. SSO and custom fields only unlock on the pricier Enterprise tier. The predictive-maintenance bundle that adds Tractian's own sensors is quote-only, so the real cost of a full deployment depends on how many sensors your plant needs.

At about $60/month to start, it sits at the higher end of CMMS & Maintenance Management pricing.
